The Rewinding Time Series has all new covers. Why? Let me explain.
Here is the “Before” view:
With these covers I worked hard to come up with an artistic concept that would reflect the time-travel/ sci-fi aspect of the stories. (As for the last book, my intention was to make the cover different so as to reflect Merri’s “happily-ever-after” spiritual and romantic ending. I never have been really satisfied with it, especially after a friend said the Merri image made it look like a self-help book.)
But the time-travel feature is only one aspect of the series. Most of my readers are not sci-fi aficionados. Rather, they are mostly attracted to the “history mystery” aspect of the stories. One reason I know this is because after readers finish the trilogy (and give it glowing reviews) they don’t generally go on to read the follow-up Rewinding Time Series.
I deduced that they might be balking at Rewinding Time’s sci-fi style covers. Thus, I decided to design new covers more in line with the original History Mystery Trilogy. So here are the newly updated covers:
The new covers reflect the mystery aspect of the stories just as the trilogy covers do. Similarly, each has an image that symbolizes the building (or cave in the case of How Sweet the Sound) in which Merri’s “time-surfing” adventures occur. For the series banner at the bottom of the cover I used an ancient parchment “artifact.” But to make sure that readers understand that these are contemporary not historical novels, I included the tiny Professor Merri Randall image.
